MENTORSHIP
Molly and Carol offer mentorship for those who want:
to prepare emotionally for an upcoming birth
to process / integrate the experience of a past birth
to recenter / reset / get support around parenting
to work 1 - 1 around mindfulness practice
Approach?
Molly’s work is an integrated approach based in all of her training as well as in her evolving experience in life both personal and professional. She sees mentorship as a dynamic, multi-dimensional approach to processing the experience of birthing oneself into parenthood.
Molly trained as a birth doula, is certified as a childbirth educator, trained in birth counseling, and is a therapist (LSW) working primarily with postpartum women. Having trained to teach Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP), as well as Mindful Parenting, all based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) curriculum, Molly’s work is grounded in and oriented toward mindful practice.
Molly also homeschools her 4 kids, which is perhaps her most significant mindfulness training ground.
Carol’s mentorship work is inspired by her experience as a mindfulness practitioner, midwife and parent. Carol loves to partner with pregnant and postpartum people and their partners in exploring how mindfulness skills and strategies can impact your pregnancy and birth journey. She believes in — and has witnessed — the impact of mindfulness practice during a difficult pregnancy, in the birth room or in the midst of the transitional postpartum period, time and time again.
In addition to her training as a Certified Nurse-Midwife, Carol is also trained as a Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) teacher, which is based on the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction curriculum. She has a longstanding mindfulness practice and has retreat and coursework experience with teachers at the Insight Meditation and Cambridge Insight Meditation Societies. She is a student of Iyengar yoga under the tutelage of Peentz Dubble and Joan White. She recently completed Postpartum Support International’s training for completion of certification in Perinatal Mental Health. She is currently in a post-master’s program to become a Marriage and Family Therapist through the Council for Relationships in Philadelphia. She currently practices midwifery at Lifecycle WomanCare outside of Philadelphia.
